Miia Virtasalmi

Miia Virasalmi was born in Helsinki, Finland. She came to Canada in 1996 to study glass at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. She currently lives in Ontario, Canada with her Canadian sculptor husband, their two young kids, two cats, and a dog. After studying her craft in Finland, Sweden and Canada, Miia began exhibiting her work around the world. She is currently a studio resident at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

I love to play with colours and have surrounded myself with all kinds of candy glass colours. I'm also a big fan of polka dots, stripes and other simple patterns.
