As an independent curator, she has organized several exhibitions at the Salle Alfred-Pellan in the Maison des arts de Laval, notably Kittie Bruneau universelle and Rhapsodie, a retrospective exhibition of works by Jean McEwen, for which she also wrote the exhibition catalogue. Ariane Dubois also boasts well over a dozen solo exhibitions in renowned art centers and museum such as the Galerie Horace in Sherbrooke, the Musée d’art contemporain des Laurentides in Saint- Jérôme, Praxis art actuel in Saint-Thérèse and Galerie d’art d’Outremont.

My childhood home in Boisbriand, Quebec near the river, woods and fields, inspires the organic forms found in my painting. I am greatly inspired by nature and seasons, which act as the memory of time passing by. The landscape images become pretext to achieve a personal and meditative impression. My process of art making over the past 20 years has included painting on canvas or paper. The process incorporates thin layers of oil on top of acrylic, latex and enamel paint and build a complex space where the transparency of the surface reveals layers from the ground. Textural layers made of impasto, play an important role in my work. The layers are built on top of each other and reveal a lyrical imagery from patterns of nature.
